
Olga Subirós – Moderator
Olga Subirós is an architect, curator, and PhD researcher at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). Her practice, developed under the concept of Displaying Emergency, explores the interconnected impact of datafication, ecological emergency, and social change through exhibitions, installations, and public programs that foster critical thinking and cultural transformation. Subirós has curated international projects such as Big Bang Data (2014-2018), co-curated with José Luis de Vicente, an itinerant exhibition co-produced by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and Fundación Telefónica, presented in cities such as London, Prague, Singapore, Boston, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Lima, Santiago de Chile, and Madrid, addressing the digital era and the power of data. In 2021, she represented Catalonia at the Venice Architecture Biennale with AIR/ARIA/AIRE, a research project on air pollution and Barcelona’s urban model, recognized with the FAD International Award ex-aequo 2022. She is currently presenting Matter Matters. Designing with the World, a semi-permanent exhibition (2025-2027) at the Museu del Disseny – DHub Barcelona, which is part of the official program of Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026, further consolidating its international impact on the discourse around materiality and regeneration in design. Subirós teaches at the Master in Design and Data at Elisava and the MIAD Master’s Program at La Salle, and is the director of Olga Subirós Studio, where she leads projects that connect architecture, design, and critical research. She is a member of the Col·legi d'Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC), the Foment de les Arts i el Disseny (FAD), the International Council of Museums (ICOM), and the Matronat d'Hangar-Fundació AAVC.
